At Iconic Auto Design we have invested in a high quality petrol fuel injector cleaning and testing machine. This machine gives us amazing insight into what can happen to fuel injectors over time and with fuel contaminants.
We offer Ultra Sonic cleaning and injector testing now for customers with NON Direct injection injectors. This generally means the fuel injector is positioned in an inlet manifold and not positioned pointing directly into the combustion chamber.

We recommend fuel injector cleaning and testing for the following -
If there has been and engine failure we recommend fuel injector cleaning and testing before installation of the new engine , to confirm that the injectors are good and were not in part a reason for the original engine failure.
If you are rebuilding a performance engine and using your old injectors we high recommend using the cleaning and testing service. It is a small cost to have peace of mind that your fuel injectors are working correctly and in turn you will not have a melted piston or washed bore for this reason.
If buying used injectors or a replacement single injector we recommend testing the complete set together as there can be massive flow rate differences depending on production batches , even on so called 'identical' injectors.
NCT emissions failures when the regular items have been checking or replaced (lambda sensor , fuel pressure reg , map sensor , tps etc) .. if there is one injector leaking or dumping fuel then this can make the car fail the emission test due to over fueling.
Some extra information about our testing procedure and equipment -
Generally our testing and cleaning procedure is as follows
1. Ultra sonic cleaning in our Beta 27L Ultra Sonic wash with cleaning solution
2. Injector back flush after ultra sonic washing
3. Injector 'full test' ... this runs through a preset cycle of tests
4. Injector 'high speed test' ... this tests the injectors at a very high pulse rate
5. Injector 'leaking test' ... the injector is tested with 5bar fuel pressure to see if it leaks
6. If an Injector fails test 3 or 4 , the injector set is moved to the smaller Ultra Sonic wash which allows for the injector to be continuously pulsed while being cleaned.
